FORMAL

On such an important day, you don't want to make any mistakes.

Weddings, shrine visits for newborns, Shichi-Go-San celebrations — formal attire is all about "status." Before we get to the price, let's start with the right choice.

First, let's start with a free viewing.

Formal attire should be chosen after seeing the actual garments, trying them on, and discussing them with your family. VASARA offers free consultations, and you can reserve any kimonos you like. For those who find it difficult to visit in person, we also offer Zoom consultations (daily from 13:00 to 16:00). You can take home photos of the kimonos you viewed during your consultation via LINE (coming soon)—you can use them directly when discussing with your family.

Book a free viewing.
For wedding guests, a formal visiting kimono is the correct attire. Unmarried women can also wear a furisode (long-sleeved kimono).
For the shrine visit, the mother wears a formal kimono (houmongi), and the baby wears a traditional christening kimono (ubugi).
For mothers attending Shichi-Go-San, choose a more understated formal kimono than the main focus of the celebration.
Formal kimono (for weddings, shrine visits, and Shichi-Go-San celebrations)¥11,990〜
Hakama (for graduation ceremony)¥24,090〜
Black formal kimono (mother of the bride and groom)¥30,690〜

Choose matching items in your group's favorite colors, or in different colors of your favorite member's color — you can consult with staff in-store to help you decide.
Nighttime events are extended, and during the fireworks period, there's a 10 PM return service. If you return it the next day (+¥2,200), you can leave it overnight.
FAQ

Here's the answer before you search.

Are there any additional charges besides the displayed price?
There will be no charges other than the plan and options you choose. If you're unsure, booking the smallest plan is officially recommended — you can freely change or add to your plan on the day of your reservation, and there are no fees other than the difference in price (you cannot lower your plan, so booking a small one is the right choice).
What do I need to make a reservation, and what should I bring on the day of the reservation?
Please be sure to bring a form of identification (driver's license, passport, health insurance card, etc.) on the day of your rental. You will not be able to rent anything if you do not present identification. Otherwise, you can come empty-handed.
How many kimonos can I choose from?
Each store and each grade offers approximately 20-30 garments to choose from. Formal wear can be viewed and reserved in advance with a free preview.
When do cancellation fees apply?
For casual wear (yukata, komon), the cancellation fee is 50% the day before and 100% on the day of the event. For formal wear, the cancellation fee is 30% 14 to 3 days before, 50% 2 days and the day before, and 100% on the day of the event.
What happens on rainy days?
We offer free rental of adult-sized umbrellas. If you're worried about getting your umbrella dirty in the rain, we recommend our peace-of-mind package (from ¥550).
What if I get it dirty or lose it?
If you subscribe to our safety package, we will cover the cost of repairs for spills, mud splatters, etc. (Casual wear: ¥550, Formal wear: ¥1,100). However, loss is not covered, regardless of the reason.
I'm going to be late...
If you're only 10-15 minutes late, please come as is. If you'll be 30 minutes or more late, please reschedule your appointment.
